Are you tired of reading about the Denver Aquarium yet? I haven’t written about it for over year, but this is at least my third post about it. 🙂 While my brothers were here they desperately wanted to go to the aquarium.
Watching the otters play.(the girl in pink is not one of mine!)
Levi and James
After the sharks I made them all go watch the mermaid show. 🙂 This is them waiting for the show to start. I was told later that it was kinda cool to watch, but they would rather see the mermaids swim with the sharks (a.k.a swimming away from hungry sharks).
On our way out Lincoln noticed this shark was the same one that was on his mug that he bought at the gift shop. So we had to take a picture!
I believe all of my siblings have made it to the aquarium except for Luke. I guess Uncle Luke and Aunt Blessing will have to come visit soon. 😀
The first Tuesday of every month from 4 – 8 the Denver Children’s Museum has a free day. Apparently Target pays for it and we all get in free of charge. Emma and I went September right at 4 and stayed the whole four hours. It was exhausting for both of us! In October I had to go by myself because Titus has class on the first and third Tuesday nights. In November Titus asked his teacher if they could have class a different day so that he could go with me. I’m so thankful for such an easy going school! I am also very thankful Titus went with me this month because I could really tell I’m a month further in my pregnancy. I’m not sure I could have kept up with the boys very well at all. I also got to take a few pictures this time around. I’m normally sooooo busy running around, keeping track of two little boys in a very very crowded place that I don’t get to take any pictures. What I really need is someone to follow us around to JUST take pictures because there really is fun stuff and cute pictures to be taken.
By far their favorite place to play is the grocery store. I despise grocery shopping any day, and this “store” isn’t any better. 😉 I find it very tiring, but the boys have sooo much fun!
James checking out his groceries:
All Gideon likes to do is fill his cart with fruit and veggies. Then I dump it out and he fills it again. He’s so cute!
The boys and I have not gone to the bubble room at all. The floor is slippery and it was too much work to look after both of them by myself. But this time Titus took James while I stayed with Gideon in another room. They both had fun! You stand on this little platform and pull a rope which brings up the ‘bubble’. So you can stand inside a bubble. Pretty cool!
They also have a retired fire truck with child size uniforms. This is also one of the boy’s favorite rooms.
It really is said how few pictures I got. Next month Aunt Alaina and Aunt Tessa will be here, and I’m hoping they will take the boys! 😀 hint hint
So we celebrated Emma’s 15th b-day before she left to go back to MN. Her birthday was on a Friday, but we didn’t really celebrate until Saturday morning. So on Friday we had cake and let her open one present. Titus bought her the sound track to her favorite TV show, H2O. She said she didn’t even know there was a sound track. Needless to say, she was totally surprised!
Then on Saturday morning we took her to the Denver Aquarium to “Breakfast with Mystic Mermaids”. She got to meet two of the mermaids and see them swim while we were eating.
And she got to open the rest of her presents
We got a discount to get into the rest of the aquarium so we did that too. The kids did not seem to enjoy it nearly as much as the did last April. James was in a horrible mood too, not sure why. We wanted to wait and see the shark feeding but we ended up leaving early.
Titus took the boys to the car and Emma got to see one last show put on by the Mermaids before leaving.
Happy Birthday Emma!
While we were in Denver scoping out a college that Titus is interested in we went to the Denver Aquarium. On a whole, the trip was horrible. Everyone got sick. We weren’t sleeping well. And it was terribly cold in Denver and we couldn’t do anything outside. This was my facebook post the next morning after arriving:
Wow what a night. We drove all the way to a sub of Denver yesterday. I started out this trip sick, now both my kids are starting to get sick. Gideon woke up every hour to nurse. And not a little 5 min nurse either, but both sides, sometimes 3 sides(can you figure that one out?? ha ha) He also clamps down and scrapes off when he nurses at night, so by morning I was burning!! James wouldn’t sleep with Alaina and Emma, so he started out with me and Titus. at 2 in the morning I wake up and Titus is just standing in the room. I ask why and he says he can’t sleep because the floor is to hard. sigh!! Isn’t he big enough to move kids around himself? So I moved James over to Alaina and Emma, which he only stayed over there for about 4 hours before moving back over to me. To top it off Titus bought me a new pillow for my birthday that you fill with water. It’s so heavy that when I sleep on my side with my hand under it it cuts off circulation. I kept waking up with tingly hands!! Why do I leave my house?? PLUS Denver got a few inches of snow, and more is coming. On April 9th? Are you kidding me? The snow is not encouraging me to move here at all….. It gets worse!! I’m having pain from my wisdom teeth again, all day. Gideon is teething, so I’m sure his mouth is hurting him too!
Okay, so maybe I was complaining a little bit, or a lot. But it really was a miserable trip.
This was the first time taking James to something like this and he enjoyed himself very much.
The shark tank was by far the favorite. Both my boys enjoyed it a lot. It was quite impressive with high and wide walls of glass. The kids could see well. The search for a new family picture didn’t go so well though. As you can see. Maybe next time. 🙂 Believe it or not Titus is leaving on Saturday to go to Texas. I must not have learned anything from this trip as I am thinking about going with him. 😛 Oh no oh no!
