A day at the dentist

Poor James had some rather large cavities that needed to be taken care of.  We had to be at the hospital at 6 in the morning, which meant we had to leave our house at 4:45.  Gross!  But it really was the best time for James since he couldn’t have anything to eat or drink after midnight.

This picture is of James and Titus watching TV while we waited for the nurse.

Even though we got there at 6 they didn’t take him away until 7:15.  So Titus pulled both the boys for awhile around in circles.

Gideon charming the nurses while I sit with James:

My poor sweet boy afterwards.

He slept all the way home, and for another couple of hours in his own bed.  He probably thinks it’s all a bad dream.  Getting a crown and a few fillings really isn’t that big of a deal.  But it sure was hard on me.  My heart goes out to all the moms and dads that have really sick kids.  The parents that live in hospitals, and have to go through surgeries all the time with their kids.  I can’t even imagine what that must be like.
